City of Splendors: Waterdeep

Slowly Getting Back to Normal

In the aftermath of the Count Scion’s death, the Companions joined the efforts of Thoros Droverson and Alban Sapphireedge to remove others threats to Waterdeep, bringing down the Devil Shaddon and the Estelmer family. They also participated in the attack of Castle Waterdeep, breaking the siege and interrogating Ricamros Gundwynd, captured by Arkin Tossum and his gang.

Through mental probing, Petyr discovered the reasons behind Gundwynd’s actions and realized how crazy and dedicated the man was. It actually took three days to bring peace to the streets and multiple operations to track down the remaining culprits were done by the Church of Siamorphe, the Guard and the paladins of Tyr and Amaunator.

Two weeks after the fall of the Divine Right Heresy, Danilo Thann was announced as Waterdeep’s new Open Lord. As one of his first decisions, the new Council of Lords, through Lord Thann, informed Mersenne that his appointment as Ambassador to Tethyr had been accepted and that the old Gundwynd Villa, seized by the government, was being offered to Tethyr as an embassy.

Meanwhile, a conclave held in the presence of three foreign high priests communing with the goddess, announced the demotion of High Moonmother Suaril and her exile from Waterdeep. Her replacement, Vivian Stardust was named the night after and the new high priestess offered the prior position to Rhivaun Silvermantle, to rebuild the bridge between the lycanthropes of the Church and the priests.

More secretly, Petyr was invited by Kyriani Agrivar to the Blackstaff Tower and once, inside, the tiefling wizard received visions from the real Blackstaff, offering him the position of Archmage to the city. He received all the old Chosen’s knowledge through magical books and was tasked to rebuild the Moonstars and prepare the city against future threats.

Petyr’s friend Arya met in secret with Elaith Craulnober who informed her that he was leaving with his daughter to Evereska to raise her in an elven environment. He offered her his position as elven crimelord in Waterdeep as well as his position of the elven representative on the Council of Lords. Knowing she would become her brothers’ boss, Arya gladly accepted, understanding that her position was not only profitable but also very important to control the waterdhavian underworld from more ruthless criminals.
